The gun ,I believe it to be a 38 c. PIG HEAD's father gave him, needs to be checked by balistics,It may have possibly have been used on mckinney to get back at him for something he did to someone , just my guess. PIG HEAD and John H. knew each other. PIG HEAD's father being an auxillary cop and John Hastings father being a fireman they had to have been very familier with each other somehow. Both of their son's were troubled young men. 23011 13 ml rd. Bingham Farms, ich. Check this address out Helen in the years of 1975-1977. It is a house that was turned into a "Youth Farm" for troubled young boy's/men. And I know more. but this all becomes so very exhausting. I know you know that. Jinn

Helen, I think you thought it sounded more like John's Brother but what if it really was John?? Or, what if it was really John's Brother and he took John with him a few times when he hung aroung Eric and the other guys.
I think xxxxxx said he was kind of stocky, with spooky eyes, and drove a light colored fancy car, would have been a 76 or a 77.
Do you have the names of the cops that responded to the scene when Jill was killed? Could they be Don Herzack (sp??), Eric Metz or Mertz, or Al Haggerty? I don't think any of them were detectives at the time. Xxxxxx

Helen, Ridgway had not seemed like a typical serial killer. He had a meek and somewhat gentle demeanor. He held a steady job, had a wife and son and passed a lie detector test twice. Others on the list of suspects, like the fur trapper who stuffed and mounted his animal prey, seemed a more likely suspect. But Ridgway was the Green River Killer, so I believe Johns Motive, 2 boys and two girls were representative of his brothers and sisters. IMO that is why these cases haven't been solved, they just can not move away from the pervert angle, and you can see that hasn't worked for them in 36 years. Kev

Helen, thank you for sending the "Carl" stuff. Wow, nice guys these people hung out with. Confusing and weird. People really do come out of the woodwork, don't they?!
One of the things that stands out in those emails is that the police don't put much faith in any "tipsters" and for the most part apparently treat them accordingly. No wonder people don't come forward or give up. The other thing--there are so many child molesters in the world it is staggering. If the police had to look at every child molester in the Detroit area in 1977 and 1978, I can see why it's taken 30 years! But isn't it fairly obvious that this was not a "garden variety" molester?! Finally, I am again struck by what appears to be the totally inadequate manner in which suspects are ruled out. DNA isn't going to do it--that could only "rule someone in," if the hair was indeed from the killer. At the 30-year mark, who do you go talk to to verify alibis, employment, cars the person had access to, location at the time(s) or addresses?! Apparently if a suspect passes a polygraph they are "cleared." That's putting a lot of faith in a machine and whether that's warranted, I can't say.
But, thanks again for finding that stuff and sending it to me. I appreciate it.

Detroit, MI -- Sept. 14, 1985 -- The incidents have a terrible sameness that has changed little through the decades: a child is reported missing; a massive search is organized, and the child's body is found a few days later. Police organize a hunt for the killer, following down hundreds, sometimes thousands, of clues. The killer is rarely found.

Helen,Did they ever decide how that bruise got on Tims head? Also were his fingernails manicured? Stan Note: On his forehead, just off to the side It covered at least a fourth of his forehead, almost from the hairline down and over his eyebrow. It was really big (or was maybe more than one) and the heavy makeup the funeral director put over it could not even hide it. Yes, Tim's fingernails were manicured when he was found.

Matt, Lawson "weaved a tale" that at times chilled him and at other times seemed "far-fetched". Lawson claims he is NOT the OCCK himself ... Ted held up a Polaroid and said "Does this NOT look like the King child?" Lawson said he was making a statement, rather than a ...*Matt, anyone I ever talked to said Lawson' lips would be moving, but all they heard was BLA-BLA-BLA..

Helen, I clearly remember your story about John telling you the Kings door was propped open and what was holding it open,I see how after 20 plus years, that everything you told us has been true! and everything the news media told us all of those years has been wrong! What is wrong with the Investigators on these cases? You have handed them the killer on a silver plate and they are still running a round chasing dead perverts and what is wrong with the families? Do they even have one other suspect who has said anything about these cases? And been right on everything they said!! I think a few people need to wake up! Scott
