According to Chief Tobin "because our psychopath doesn't fit the prototype of the dirty old man handing out candy. We have a good education program in the schools against this more common breed of child molester and the kids have learned the lesson well. But in this case the children are going along with the killer and not resisting. They trust him....they might even know him-He could be a public official, a teacher, a clergyman ,a scout master, a doctor, even a police officer" What he should of said is...we assume people we know at least in West Bloomfield and Birmingham can't be serial killers, don't you think we would know if that guy in church or who worked with us was a serial Killer? (Unfortunately, there really is no way of knowing.} Oh we can know that he is weird, know that he makes us uncomfortable and maybe even think he is a psychopath. But knowing all that doesn't mean he is a serial killer-most of the time we don't even give weirdos that much thought after all if he is a home town boy, well no one in West Bloomfield or Birmingham Michigan, would ever do such a thing, and we know that for sure! Because we wouldn't allow it....
