Helen, I still think the police should have done more research into claims on the man you believed was the killer. I sometimes wonder if the crimes will ever be solved and if the killer is still alive. Fran

Helen, Did the police investigate these matters? 1. White animal hair connects all four cases. 2. A DNA match from new hairs discovered on one of the victims leads to this new suspect. 3. Police find a startling drawing at a suspect's home. 4. A police report surfaces from the 1970s that sent investigators looking around a northern Michigan cottage-Ron -Note-Yes and they were all wild goose chases...

Helen, According to police reports obtained by the Defenders, police think the hair belongs to 49-year-old James Vincent Gunnels. Gunnels was in police custody until just one month ago, living in a halfway house in Kalamazoo. He has a long history of property crimes, but never has been charged in any criminal sexual case. The victims' families were recently told Gunnels would stay in prison for decades unless he cooperated in the Oakland County Child Killer case. But tonight Gunnels is a free man -- police saying they do not have enough evidence to hold him or charge him. Do you think this statement is just another ch 4, Hype? Robert-Note -Yes Ch 4, never gets the whole story right, they always have to add a little bit more drama-

Mike-John was not overseas for any of the abductions and murders-this is just his way of confusing everyone-DS: Are you comfortable that those are the right dates...January, February, March of '77 was when you were there.
JH: right. *Note-It is obvious that John does not know if he was out of the country in 76-or 77-He mentions still having a passport from that trip-Now here is what I do not understand-He doesn't show up with a passport when Interviewed in 1977-but in 1991-1992- when he is going for a polygraph-the first thing he pulls out is a passport--now John had two passports and he carried them on his body everyday-24-7 when he lived in Alpena--Before he had his polygarph--and before he knew I went to the Cops--He told me and I saw Documentation-that he planed on going into the" second passport business" He had order a passport from this company in 1985-86--they also sold additional services -like passport stamping and putting official post marks on other items-what ever you wanted to pay for-* also John tells in his Interview with DS-that his passport is very wrinkled...Well It wasn't when I saw it and I checked with others who had stole a peek at it-and they never saw any wrinkles-To begin with John would never keep any paper item that had any defect in it-as he was too fastidious-

www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/03/oregon-veteran-faces-evic_n_1074465.html?ref=impact&ncid=webmail3 Edward Zivica, a 70-year-old who served in the Navy in the 1960s, faces a hard choice come Veterans Day next week: He can obey the rules and remain in his apartment complex, or he can follow his tradition of hanging the American flag outside his place. The managers at his subsidized housing project in Springfield, Ore., have given him notice he'll be evicted if he again violates the rules against putting anything on the exterior walls. That notice came after the flag went up on Oct. 27 for Navy Day, one of several that Zivica marks by hanging it outside the community room near the main entrance. He'd gotten a letter from the management in June telling him to quit.

Hi Helen, Anything new? Any rumors from your sources on how the Grand Juries are doing? It seems awful quiet on the OCCK front. Greg-Note- No one has anything to say-The last time I talked to my sources- They said "nice try Helen...but we are not going to tell you what we are doing-"
