The vehicle, found on Mullins Branch Road in the Topmost community, was reported to state police just before midnight Friday, according to a news release. The identity of the person inside had not been determined as of Saturday afternoon. The vehicle and remains were taken to the state medical examiner's office. ..Police are continuing to investigate after a burned car, containing the remains of two people, was found Saturday off Highway 1098 in the South Fork Creek area of Breathitt County. The car was traced to Sheryl Lessor of Michigan. The car was taken to the Frankfort for further examination.

The pair had been reported missing shortly before the remains were found.
